I am Senior Scientific Officer in the Unit on Biological Hazards & Animal Health and Welfare (BIOHAW) of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). My role is as risk assessor in the field of biological hazards by providing scientific support to the EFSA Scientific Panel on Biological Hazards (BIOHAZ Panel) in the area of food microbiology (e.g. high pressure processing of food, superchilling of fish, decontamination treatments of animal products, persistence of microbiological hazards in food and feed production and processing environments).

You will learn about the application procedure for decontamination substances to reduce microbial surface contamination from products of animal origin. Objectives of the EFSA assessments will be provided as well as examples from assessments since 2010.
