His present research activities are mainly related to the spread of antibiotic resistance through the food chain, investigating the role of both wild animals and game (wild boar, foxes, waterfowl, corvids) and food producing animals, in a One Health approach.
The possible transmission route of carbapenemase-producing and ESBL E. coli and K. pneumoiniae is one of the main research topic, together with modernization of meat inspection in pig slaughterhouses.
