Her professional background is veterinary medicine and veterinary public health. Her main scientific activities are risk assessments in the field of biological hazards and foodborne zoonoses, for example on Campylobacter in broilers, Salmonella in pigs, foodborne parasites, Hepatitis E virus, safety of raw drinking milk, transport of meat, simplified food safety management systems for small retailers, date marking and modernisation of meat inspection.
