I am veterinarian, regularly involved in teaching, research and knowledge exchange in microbial risk assessment/management of zoonotic foodborne pathogens and food safety. My research interests are in exploiting knowledge on microbial physiology for the control of foodborne pathogens along the food chain. I am member of the Panel on Biological Hazards (BIOHAZ) of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
