Lecturer in Production Animal Healthand Food Safety, Royal VetCollege, UK

Niko is a lecturer of VPH, food safety and food systems at the RVC.

Before that Niko has had a long career in the wider meat and farming industries in the UK, including as an Official Veterinarian in abattoirs and as a technical manager and consultant in the private sector.

Niko’s main research interests lie in the wider food systems and sustainable (animal origin) food production,in animal health and productivity and in meat inspection and meat safety.

Niko is anECVPH Resident (Food Science) and is leading the RIBMINS WG3.3 Objective on the development of a performance assessment tool of abattoir Food Safety Management Systems(FSMS)

In this workshop, Niko will present the FSMS performance assessment tool that was developed in RIBMINS Workgroup 3 and will lead Case 5 –Toxoplasma in sheep.
